High school students raised $1508.31 for a charity during a penny war earlier in the year. Mr. Boerger's advising was the top donor and chose Jackson County Outreach-Bolton Refuge House as the charity they wished for the money to go to. Students Attend County Government Day

Jackson County Government Day was held on May 2. Black River Falls High School sent 10 students who spent the morning with Judge Becker, District Attorney Dan Diehn, County Clerk Kyle Deno, county board member Ray Ransom, Sheriff Duane Waldera and may other county officials. A luncheon was hosted by the American Legion.

It was late November of 1863, 154 years ago, that Abraham Lincoln traveled to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania to assist with the dedication of a cemetery. It was during that memorial event that he uttered those famous lines that we know as the Gettysburg Address. Check out our project from 201o on the Black River connections to the Civil War.
